Where:

DOCK am Donaukanal
Spittelauer Lände 10
1090 Vienna

When:

Monday, June 3rd, 11:00-17:30

Global climate protests clearly demonstrate that the younger generation is acutely aware of the urgency in combating the climate crisis. For this engagement to succeed, understanding social, economic, and political structures, as well as being aware of global interconnections and questioning inequalities, is crucial. The project FutureSIM is committed to supporting young people in their efforts for a better world by promoting high-quality education for sustainable development, thereby contributing to the achievement of the SDGs, particularly SDG 4.7.

To this end, a simulation game on the topics of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has been developed, specifically tailored for secondary school students (ages 14-19). This simulation is part of a comprehensive learning program that offers resources for both teachers and students and can also be used in non-formal educational settings.

The FutureSIM project was carried out by the Austrian Foundation for Development Research (ÖFSE) in cooperation with the Centre for Systems Solutions (Poland), the Rogers Foundation (Hungary), and the Vienna University Children’s Office (Austria). It was funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and through the Austrian Development Cooperation. The project’s closing event is organized in cooperation with EUCU.NET and is open to everyone interested in education for sustainable development. The event will be held in English.

To conclude the project, there are two events where the results and materials will be presented: a conference day on June 3, 2024, in Vienna, and an online symposium on June 17, 2024.

The event is free of charge.
